“Internations” expat mixer at El Caribe Restaurant

The Panamanian chapter of the largest global expat network in the world, Internations.org, is holding its monthly event on Thursday, April 19, starting at 7:00 p.m. at Restaurante El Caribe on Via Argentina. This “April Get-Together” will feature welcome cocktails, live music and other surprises. Cost is $15 for Internations basic members and guests.

Panama’s Internations ambassador Diana Storin reports that this is part of the 2012 schedule of regular monthly networking events for expats and “global minds.” Attendance at the event, according to Storin is from 100 to 150 expats. The group has grown to about 1,300 online members in Panama City over the last two years, she says. Members represent 40 different nationalities.

Restaurante El Caribe is owned and operated by Maritza Ellis, a Panamanian who has moved home after living in the US. Her love for the authentic flavors of her native Caribbean was so strong that she left a career in real estate to dedicate her passion to the kitchen – and Panama is a tastier place for it. The Fried Bacalao Fish Cakes are a must-try.

The restaurant is located next to Manolo’s on Via Argentina. Albatross members enter free. All can join at www.internations.org.
