Fundación Telefónica, the foundation that belongs to international phone service provider Movistar, has lunched a movie-making competition to bring awareness to child labor in Latin America. Film professionals and amateurs alike are invited to submit script proposals of ten minutes in length.
Proposals should be in the documentary style and focus on the realities of child labor or specifically on the work that Fundación Telefónica carries out to this regard in Latin America.
In April, three contest winners will travel to the Latin American countries that their projects are set in and carry out a five-week filming and editing process of the short documentaries.
Fundación Telefónica will cover the cost of the short films up to $8,000 each and each winning party receives a $4,000 prize. The three winning documentaries will be screened on TVE, the wide-reaching Spanish network.
