A total of 35 countries will display their wares and services at Expocomer, Panama’s huge commercial fair at ATLAPA Convention Center from Wednesday 17 to Saturday April 20. This will be the 31st edition of the fair, the most important of its kind in Central America.
Expocomer 2013 is going to be the biggest in its history. Turkey and five of the 11 countries that form part of the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI for its initials in Spanish) will participate in this event for the first time. Last year 514 exhibitors from 32 different countries went to Expocomer and around $100 million in transactions were registered.
The fair is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Panama (CCIAP). For the seventh year running, the National Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation (SENACYT for its initials in Spanish) will grant the “Entrepreneur Innovation National Award” to the company or individual that stands out in its commercial and/or industrial activities.
This year’s inaugural speaker is the Governor of Puerto Rico, Alejandro Javier Garcia Padilla, who has great experience in economic, political and social topics. Another special guest is the former president of Interamerican Development Bank, Enrique Iglesias, who will participate in an economic forum called: “Exploring new opportunities in the region.”
The only day that the fair will be open to the public over 18 is Saturday April 20 from
11:00 to 8:30 p.m. The tickets cost $15 and can be obtained at boleto.com and Blockbuster.
During the fair Expocomer’s Business Center will organize appointments between exhibitors and buyers through a virtual agenda available on the web page of the event www.expocomer.com.
