Residents of Panama City are working up an appetite. Next week is “Restaurant Week” during which the chefs of a select group of restaurants invite patrons to celebrate with them the art and pleasures of gastronomy.
In fact Restaurant Week is two weeks, beginning on Monday April 15 and continuing to the last day of the month. In order to promote fine dining and their own restaurants in particular, proprietors will bring prices as low as possible and their chefs will make extraordinary efforts to create new dishes and to add flavor to tried and trusted recipes. Each participating restaurant will offer a special menu daily with appetizer, main course, dessert and a glass of Morande wine — all at a very special price.
This will be the fourth annual Restaurant Week and will take place at the Riu Place Hotel’s restaurant, Tastes. Each year it has grown more popular and has helped to consolidate Panama’s reputation as a gourmet destination.
