The longest day of the year, which falls on Friday, June 21, is celebrated around the world with the grand Fête de la Musique party. In Panama, the French Alliance has organized a bar-hopping street-style party along Vía Argentina starting at 7:00 p.m. The general public is invited to join in this cultural voyage to eleven bars and restaurants along the main street of the El Cangrejo neighborhood. Revelers will find different genres of live music – from jazz to rock and roll all played live.
This party is one of the biggest demonstrations of French culture around the world. Some 456 cities on five different continents join in this fraternal encounter that goes beyond borders with its universal language of music.
Participating venues in El Cangrejo are Rincón Habanero, Sepia, Rayuela, El Caribe, El Chante, El Fogón de Hilario, Estatus, Mendozas, Maranello, La Tasca de Duran and Bon Profit. “It is great that Via Argentina is celebrating Fête de la Musique,” said the Hugues Gposbault, ambassador of France in Panama.
