Some 40 students have begun studying at a new non-profit aviation school that opened this month in Albrook. Affiliated with the City of Knowledge, the Latin American Academy of Superior Aviation (ALAS) is filling the need to give top-quality aviation training to the Panamanian population at accessible prices. It is estimated that over the next five years, 360 pilots will graduated from the academy. The school is sponsored by Copa Airlines.
