Foreign films and gourmet food
Foodies and movie lovers alike will not want to miss the 4th annual Alternative Cinema Show, “NOCOCINE,” organized by the Image and Sound Center Foundation (CIMAS). This free event will be carried out on Thursdays for three months at the French Alliance headquarters, located on Calle 44 at Justo Arosemena Avenue, Casa Blanca Building, in Bella Vista near the Riba Smith supermarket.
Attendees will enjoy guest chefs preparing a gourmet meal to be enjoyed at each screening. Wine and soft drinks will be on sale. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the shows start at 8:15 p.m.
The program of films will be revealed monthly. The first to be screened on Thursday, August 15 is the French film “Welcome,” with Spanish subtitles, directed by Philippe Lioret. It tells the story of an illegal Kurd immigrant, who decides to take swimming lessons, so he can swim across the English Channel.
Show dates are: Thursday, August 15 and Thursday, August 29; Thursday, September 12 and Thursday, September 26; Thursday, October 10; Thursday, October 24 and Thursday, October 31.

Guatemalan premier at the
On Friday, August 23 at 7:30 p.m., the event will feature the premier of the Guatemalan movie “Fe” (Faith) by director Alejo Crisóstomo at the Cine Universitario, University of Panama. The entrance is free.
