Audition technique course for film, television & theatre

Why do actors win jobs? There are ‘tricks’ to achieving a good audition. Knowledge of how to audition correctly is one of the keys to being a successful performer in the ever-challenging entertainment industry. Beginner and professional performers alike have an opportunity to improve their chances of winning roles this August by joining an Audition Technique Course at the Theatre Guild of Ancon. Two international practitioners and performers – Melanie Lee, a professional actress from Los Angeles and Danielle Miles of Forte Theatre UK – will be sharing their ‘tricks of the trade’ during an intensive five-day training course. The course is aimed at auditions but also imparts quite a lot of general acting skills as well. Themes include tone, impressing the casting director, guest star roles, musical theatre, cold reads, digging into character, monologues and sides. Actors aged 15 and up may participate in the week-long course from Monday, August 5 through Friday, August 9 from 2:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily at the Theatre Guild of Ancon in Panama City. Cost is $250 or $225 for members of the theatre. Bookings: Enquiries: 6569-4156
