When Multiplaza Pacific Mall opened in 2004 in the Punta Pacifica neighborhood, the mall changed the way Panamanians shop. A Grupo Roble project, part of the El Salvador based business conglomerate Grupo Poma, Multiplaza also changed how foreign visitors make purchases in the shopping paradise that is Panama. The mall is different from the rest for its award-winning design and for carrying the most prestigious and international luxury brands within its shops.

The project was developed under a “Commercial Tourism Complex” concept, which actually created a new commercial district in Panama City within the mall. Put simply, Multiplaza offers the best of the best: fantastic architecture, the best brand-name stores, all under one roof, where one can find just about anything for any budget, from Hermés to Payless.

Camino del Sol

The Camino del Sol is an exclusive part of Multiplaza where fashionistas will find the top brands from the international runways like: Hermés, Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Chanel, Bvlgari, Tiffany & Co, Carolina Herrera, Ermenegildo Zegna, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana, Salvatore Ferragamo, Emporio Armani, Loewe, Ralph Laruen, Jimmy Choo and Rolex among others. Together, these exclusive stores offer shoppers a level of luxury beyond compare anywhere in Latin America. The Camino del Sol sector will feel like home to even the most exclusive shoppers from Paris or New York.

Multiplaza offers over 65,000 square meters of shopping space under one roof. Among its over 400 commercial spaces are big department stores, 14 modern movie theaters and nearly 50 restaurants and cafés for all budgets and tastes. A good time is always waiting to be had at the Las Terrazas section of the city, for an elegant dinner or an evening cocktail in one of the bars, cafés or fine restaurants there.

Then came Metromall

In the year 2008 Grupo Roble began construction on another mega-project: Metromall. Its uninterrupted construction was completed in 15 months. The result is an attractive mall with a dynamic design, spacious halls and close to 3,000 parking spaces. It is located in the eastern part of Panama City, just 10 minutes from Tocumen International Airport.

This section of Panama City has recently experienced an exponential growth in construction and population in the last decade. So much was the growth that there was a need for a comfortable shopping option all under one roof.

Metromall is the only climate-controlled shopping center in this area of the city and it has 130,000 meters of construction, 260 stores, 40 restaurants, 10 movie theaters and branches of the most important banks in the country. The mall also has a pharmacy, supermarket, bill payment centers and plazas for presentations.

Perfect for tourists on layover at the Airport

Metromall offers free transportation for travelers on layover at Tocumen Airport. Safe, free transport is available to and from Metromall, so that travelers can take care of shopping needs while they wait for their connecting flight.

Benefits for tourists

Multiplaza and Metromall are the malls in Panama that stand out from the rest for developing shopping incentives specifically for tourists. They offer free transport from metropolitan area hotels and give tourists the Panama Shopping Card free of charge so that tourists can take advantage of discounts at over 300 stores throughout both malls. The malls also offer packages and promotions especially for convention and congress groups which come to Panama for meetings.

On-site lodging

Both malls offer a modern and convenient Courtyard Hotel by Marriott on their grounds. The most recently inaugurated Courtyard Hotel was at Metromall, with 120 comfortable rooms. At Multiplaza, the hotel offers 248 rooms.

Come and see why Multiplaza and Metromall are the shopping paradises of Panama!
