This month Moisés Véliz Arosemena became the president of the Panamanian Association of Business Executive (APEDE)’s Tourism Commission. The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 21 at the APEDE offices in Calidonia from noon to 2:00 p.m.
“We are going to put together our working agenda,” Véliz told The Visitor, “Tourism is now more than ever a relevant economic activity in Panama.” Despite spiked increases in room availability that seems to be above what the current affluence of visitors to Panama are looking for, the industry is “sustained and growing” according to Véliz, whose lifelong career with Copa Airlines is decorated with the opening of many routes that make Panama the Hub of the Americas today.
