New Ukrainian Consulate eyes regional market

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Leonid Kozahra opened last week the first consulate of that European country in Panama. During his official visit to the isthmus, he said that this is the first step to strengthen the commercial, political and cultural bonds between the two countries.

Ukraine is trying to find a gateway in the American market and believes that Panama could help with its plans of conquering the regional market. Kozahra added that the possibility exists to open a United Nations humanitarian hub in Panama to distribute food and other items and another one to export agricultural produce to the rest of the region.

Kozahra said that according how the relations develop between Panama and Ukraine, the consulate could become an embassy in the future.
