Foodies will fill the ATLAPA Convention Center from Friday, August 30 to Sunday, September 1. The fourth annual Panama Gastronomica fair will offer even more activities and deliciousness in even more space than in years prior.
Panama Gastronomica is preparing to welcome visiting chef delegations from the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Mexico y Colombia. Panamanian participation has grown each year with the festival. All competitors will participate in a chef competition called Copa Visit Panama 2013 which never fails to showcase the high caliber of culinary skills present.
This year the event offers its visitors 180 stands containing restaurants, gourmet stores, kitchen accessories, culinary service providers, beer and wine. The Ruta del Vino (Wine Route) section is an obligatory stop for attendees who enjoy good wine. The route takes one along a tasting trip with samples of the best wines along the way.
Chefs Unplugged is one of the innovative new aspects at Panama Gastronomica this year, with blocks of national and international chefs compeiting for the ultimate prize in a showdown-style test of their skills.
Panama Gastronomica has allied with the MicroBrew Fest, which will undoubtedly be one of the attractions for many attending the fair. Beer lovers will have some 37 varieties of artisan-style beers to taste on hand.
