No other new-generation production coming out of the Theatre Guild of Ancon has startled audiences as much as Deep Fried Comedy. The sketch comedy act that is unafraid to get “down and dirty” is returning to the English-language theater stage opening Thursday, August 15 for a two-week run through Saturday, August 29. Showings are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The cast of Deep Fried Comedy takes responsibility for the language and subject matter that the show presents. Cast member Joe Mezquita told The Visitor that he and his fellow thespians Melanie Lee, Andres Clemente, Simon Tejeira and GianCarlo Benedetti are in the midst of mixing their signature batch of comedy.
Playing on the social notion that the population from the southern region of the United States lacks refinement (and eats fried chicken), the producers of Deep Fried Comedy state being “back and classier then ever” with audience participation being one of the defining qualities of the upcoming production.
Past productions are memorable for their unabashed representation of sexual liberation, domestic violence and off-color humor.
Rocky Horror Show Panama in October
