Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport (PTY) provides connections to over six million travelers annually. Those taking a trip that connects in Panama City via either Copa Airlines or United Airlines can request to enjoy a Free Stop Over in Panama upon booking their ticket. The offer is called the “Visita Panamá Gratis” program.

The “Free Stop Over” is a public-private strategy that annuls the $100 fee for baggage collection and checking back for the connecting flight. Those taking advantage of the option to enjoy a few days in Panama typically spend their time here shopping, visiting any number of attractions within or near the capital city as well as enjoying the wide array of dining, entertainment and nightlife options.
