The American Society of Panama is having a walkathon on Saturday, January 11 at 7:30 a.m. at the Kiwanis Park in City of Knowledge (Ciudad del Saber) in Clayton.
Participation in the event costs $5 and all proceeds collected will go to four charities the American Society has “adopted” as beneficiaries of the event. These are the Asilo Años Dorado (The Golden Years Asylum), Las Hermanas de Misericordia (MUCEC) (The Sisters of Mercy), Hogar San José de Malambo (San José de Malambo House) and Hogar Parroquia de Fatima (Fatima Parish House).
Advance tickets are not required but the Society is requesting that those who wish to join the walk first confirm their assistance by calling 6747-6762 or writing American.firstname.lastname@example.org.
Society members will be able to pick up their 2014 membership cards and pay dues. Special prizes will be awarded for those participating in the walkathon.
Those interested being just spectators are encouraged to not miss out on the fun by bringing a lawn chair and showing their support while relaxing in the shade of the beautiful Kiwanis Park (formerly Clayton Park).
