Focus at Colombia’s ANATO Fair

The Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (ANATO, in Spanish initials), recently concluded its 33rd Tourism Showcase which was held in Santa Fe de Bogotá at the end of February. For the first time since the fair’s inception, business interests of the tourism sector from all of Colombia’s 32 provinces were represented. Participants from 48 countries joined them for three days of intensive conferences and presentations.

As a result of the fair, more than 30,000 business contracts were signed between the thousands of expositors and buyers in attendance. The amount of business generated is expected to surpass $150 million dollars.

Panama’s tourism industry maintained a solid presence at the ANATO Expo through support from Panama’s Tourism Authority (ATP). Focus Publishing Group (Int) S.A., parent company of The Visitor, was also there with our representative, Patricia Puentes, sales executive at Focus. Mrs. Puentes showcased the latest issue of The Visitor as well as the first edition of 2014 of the guide book Focus Panama, the in-depth tourist guide which is published twice a year.
