The long awaited opening of Panama’s Metro will officially take place Saturday, April 5. The public will be able to ride the new, public transportation system as of April 7 and will be able to do so for free until such time the government ascertains the cost of a ride. The current Metro Bus cards will be used to board the train. The hours of operation will be from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. President Ricardo Martinelli is expected to make further announcements concerning the Metro’s fare at its inauguration on Saturday.
