A new, luxury boutique hotel has opened its doors on Calle 54 in Obarrio, the heart of Panama’s banking district. The Grace Hotel chain is synonymous with being upscale, chic and inviting. A Greek-based company that caters to those who enjoy the finer things in life, Grace Hotel Panama is the company’s first hotel in Central America as well as their first to target the business traveler.
The hotel’s 60 rooms are designed with comfort in mind. The decor’s modern lines reflect a classic Italian-style, sophisticated, practical and appeasing to the senses.
The 12th floor houses MEET@12, a European bistro that serves quality, quick meals. The gym is located to one side. It contains state-of-the-art cardio and weight machines. It leads to a terrace where a jacuzzi, shower and pool attend to a New York-style view that looks out to the Panamanian skyline.
Beyond the lobby is 54East, the restaurant headed by Spanish chef, Pedro Masolivier. Here, a pared Mediterranean-inspired menu is served, from breads to chocolate truffles, all made in-house.
Grace Hotels began with small-scale, luxury resorts in Santorini and Mykonos. The new Obarrio location cost $18 million, and is part of the group’s strategy of bringing their European standard of comfort and elegance to the growing American market.
