Nestled in the hills of Jaramillo Arriba, five minutes from the town of Boquete, are the Casa Victoria Cabins. Located near a coffee plantation in an idyllic mountain setting, Casa Victoria looks out to Volcán Barú and is conveniently located near the path to Piedra Las Nubes, a popular lookout point.

The owner, a Finn who arrived in Panama in 1996, fell in love with Boquete and purchased land in the area. With its location 1500 meters above sea level, ideal for growing coffee, he began to plant boutique varietals of the plant, including Geisha, Catuay, Typica, Bourbon and Caturra. So was born Finca Victoria.

A nearby property was put on the market that contained Swiss, Alp-style chalets. An impromptu hotel business ensued. After a remodel, the cabins were ready for guests and Finca Victoria found its perfect complement with the nascent Casa Victoria, a choice spot to disconnect from the world and enjoy the tranquility of nature.

Casa Victoria features six comfortable cabins with capacity for two to six. They are equipped with hot water, cable TV, kitchenette, WiFi internet and semi-orthopedic mattresses. There is also a garden area for barbecues. The location, known for its pleasant year-round climate, has night temperatures that can drop as low as 15 degrees Celsius with daytime temperatures averaging between 22 and 25 degrees.

Finca Victoria now processes export quality coffee under the name Café Victoria, available both at Casa Victoria and at “The Coffee Monkey,” a café in the center of town in front of Plaza Los Establos. Those who mention having read this article in The Visitor will receive a 20% discount on the purchase of the packaged coffee.

At Casa Victoria, you can hire guided tours to Finca Victoria to learn about the process of growing coffee. More active guests can opt to climb to Piedra Las Nubes, the famous lookout point. You can also buy coffee seedlings produced by Finca Victoria for your home garden.
