Celebrate Swiss Day the tropical way

13 - Flag Panama_fmt 13 - Swiss Day PTY_fmtIn celebration of Swiss National Day, Panama’s Swiss Club is organizing an event on Saturday, August 2 at the Pearl Club complex at the Playa Bonita Westin Hotel, located on the road to Veracruz. Special guests include Pedro Zwahlen, the Swiss Ambassador to Panama, and Nils Petterson, the Swiss General Consul.

The program takes place starting at 6:30 p.m. with the welcoming of attendees. At 7 p.m. a bonfire will be lit followed by a procession of lamps. The Swiss Club president will give a few words followed by the playing of the national anthems of Switzerland and Panama. At 8 p.m. a Swiss-style dinner will be served accompanied with traditional song and dance. The Club’s yearly raffle winners will then be announced.

The musical duo, “Geyssell & Diesel Sepp” from Costa Rica, will give a special performance. The activity is open to everyone, with tickets at $50 for adults and $30 for children ages 5 to 12. Children under 5 are not charged entry. The Westin is offering a special all-inclusive package for $125 per person.
