FEST 4U is a festival aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle, preventing obesity in children and adolescents as well as combating cancer. It takes place from Friday, August 1 to Sunday, August 3 at the Kiwanis Sport City of the City of Knowledge. Everybody is invited and pets are welcome. The activities start at 9:00 a.m. and the entrance prices are $5 for children and adults on the day of the event and $3.50 pre-sale, which can be bought at FANLYC located on the corner of Avenida México and Calle 33 in Calidonia.
This family fair will feature demonstrations of different sports activities such as zumba, aquazumba, kickboxing, yogazone, flag football, front tennis, American football, golf, baseball and a batting zone. For those who prefer running there is the “4U” circuit.
On the SOMOS FANLYC stage there will be a dancing and sitting zumba, as well as tacfit, crossfit, ju-jitzu and pole dance. The fair will also have workshops and conferences about good nutrition, stress management, physical exercise and spirituality.
Pets will have their own space and the second “Mi Perro 4U” walk will take place, together with an agility circuit and a frisbee-training area for pets.
The event is organized by FANLYC, an organization that helps children with leukemia and cancer and their families who do not have means to pay for chemotherapy, medicines, food, housing, transport and psychological help.
Leslie Ducruet, Executive Director of FANLYC, said the “FEST 4U’s purpose is not only to create awareness among youth about adopting a healthy lifestyle, but the money collected during this activity will be used to help with the treatment of hundreds of children with cancer around the country.”
