The festival will pay tribute to Mercedes Sosa, “the voice of Latin America” who died in 2009.

For all movie lovers out there, the 11th International Diva Latino Film Festival will take place at the Tryp Hotel Albrook Mall through Tuesday, September 16. The all-ages festival comprises documentaries, shorts, features, and animated productions from all over Latin America including Mexico, Argentina, and Panama. Awards will be given for best film, best screenplay, best editing, best photography and the audience choice award for the best Latin American productions of the past year.

Audiences will delight in the presence celebrity guests including by Bettina Rodríguez, councilwoman from Doral County in Florida, U.S., who will lead a forum to create awareness about abuse against women. A special tribute will also be made in honor of the late, iconic Argentinean singer, Mercedes Sosa, known as the “voice of Latin America.”
