The Alliance Francaise and Cinépolis have teamed up for the “Tour de Cine Francés” (French Film Tour), a “traveling show with the best of contemporary French cinema” that has been making its way through Mexico and Central America, and has just reached Panama. The seven selected films will be screened from Thursday, September 25 to Wednesday, October 8. The program is slotted to reach a good swath of the City in three theaters: Metro Mall, Multiplaza Pacific and Westland Mall.

Some noteworthy mentions include “L’homme qu’on aimait trop” (English title “In the Name of My Daughter”), a 2014 drama directed by André Techiné starring Catherine Deneuve. Meanwhile, English-born Kristin Scott Thomas shows her skill in “Avant L’hiver” (Before the Winter Chill), a beautifully constructed film that bespeaks France’s long tradition of perfection of cinematic form.
