Until Sunday, October 5, the Ícaro Festival Panama, now in its fifth year, will take place at the University of Panamá with free screenings each night starting at 7:30 p.m. in the “Estudio Multiuso” (Multi-use Studio) of the GECU department. As in former years, the festival will later travel to the city of David in Chiriquí with screenings at the Casa Cultural La Guaricha from Tuesday, October 14 to Friday, October 17 for a nominal entry fee.
The festival includes the short films “Entia” (El Salvador), “Estaba Sufriendo” (Nicaragua), “Ataraxia” (Honduras) and “Irene” (Costa Rica) as well as the feature-length documentary, “Justicia Para Mi Hermana” (Guatemala/USA).
A selection of Panamanian films will be chosen to compete in the international version of the festival which takes place in November. These will be presented at a special screening on the night of Saturday, October 4.
