The number of direct flights between Tocumen International and Europe is ever-increasing. The newest destination being considered for such a route is Berlin,
Germany. Negotiations between the German airline, Lufthansa, and the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP) will soon conclude. If successful, from 2015 this route will become a reality that will respond to the increase of German tourists entering Panama.
The German company plans to start operations with five weekly flights, adding to the 19 direct connections that already exist between Panama and Europe and the 4 shared flights operated by the Portuguese airline, TAP, between Lisbon, Colombia and Tocumen. Lufthansa will use A330 jets with a capacity for 300 passengers.
