Air Canada’s new direct route
On Wednesday, December 17, Air Canada inaugurated its new direct route connecting Toronto with Panama City. The flight was received at Tocumen International Airport by Minister of Panama’s Tourism Authority (ATP), Jesús Sierra Victoria; Canadian Ambassador to Panamá, Sylvia Cesaratto; General Manager of Tocumen Airport, Carlos Rodríguez; and General Manager of Air Canada, Maribel Fernández.
“This important event heralds a new bond between Panama and Canada,” said Maribel Fernández. “The new route brings our countries closer together, and allows for all of Central and South America to unite through this important travel hub.”
The new Air Canada flights operate three times a week, on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, with Airbus-319 jets. Departures from Panama take place at 3:10 p.m. arriving at 8:44 p.m. The return trips from Toronto depart that city at 8:35 a.m. and arrive in Panama at 2:10 p.m.
According to an official Air Canada communiqué, “The new route opens a door to an important market, full of opportunities for commercial and cultural exchange. This comfortable, trustworthy alternative offers travelers first-class standards for business and pleasure.”
