To promote cultural exchange, the National institute of Culture (INAC) has announced the start of its annual summer program, “Verano INAC” (“INAC Summer”), comprising educational and artistic events to be held across the country. All the activities are family-friendly events offered freely to the public.
The program takes place Saturday, January 10 – Saturday, April 25 and is divided into three phases.
The educational phase, from Monday, January 19 – Saturday, February 7, involves more than 30 artistic workshops for children ages 6 to 17 years. On offer are music, contemporary dance, theater, visual arts, folklore, circus skills and urban dance classes.
The artistic phase, Friday, February 27 – Saturday, April 25, will take place in the cities of David, Coclé, Santiago, Chitré, Colón, Darién and Panama. The program comprises music, theater, film and dance presentations as well as community fairs, book presentations by local authors and art exhibitions. Presentations by the National Ballet and the National Symphony Orchestra will also take place.
The third phase refers to cultural initiatives sponsored by INAC, such as the Panama Jazz Festival, currently underway, and Musicalion scheduled for February in Parque Omar.
