For almost a full week, world class music will dominate the valley of Boquete during the ninth annual Boquete Jazz & Blues Festival, the biggest international music festival in the highlands of Chiriqui.
Audiences will delight in performances from artistes of the caliber of Yelba, described as “the voice of an angel,” interpreting Spanish romance ballads along with her repertoire of emotive jazz pieces that touch the hearts of all who listen. Yelba, born in Nicaragua, brings a Latin touch to the festival with her powerful melodies tinged with a tropical feel.
The festival’s packed program of stars features 56 international musicians, playing at various event locations including the amphitheater of Valle Escondido, at nightly jam sessions, in the New Orleans-style parade, at a special party of Jazz Latino in the garden at the Panamonte Hotel, at a free concert in the park, at the “Art of Music” art show and at area schools for the “Music for Schools” program.
