In the context of National Institute of Culture’s INAC Summer 2015 program, and for the seventh consecutive year, the Macrofest Festival, a celebration of creativity, returns to various locations in Casco Antiguo from Tuesday, March 17 to Sunday, March 22.

The Macrofest Festival with its content of music, fashion, art and performance pieces, attracts thousands of Panamanians and visitors from around the world. It is the ideal platform to share experiences, awaken the senses and receive mentorship from creative professionals who have achieved success within their fields.

This year’s festival features a Macro-Market for small scale producers. In addition an Idea Laboratory will provide the opportunity for entrepreneurs to obtain mentorship from experts in various creative disciplines.

Special guests include professional photographers, Carlos Hernandez, Carole Pampoulie and Frédéric Bieth; Musicians like K.E.E.N.E., the rock band the Guayas, DJ Ritmo Equis and Ferran Galindo; Film producer Debbie Kuzniecky and many more.

Various lectures, workshops and free activities are scheduled at the American Trade Hotel. There will also be a participative drawing session lead by Atelier Londy and guest artist, Andi Soto, in Casa del Soldado on Tuesday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. in which participants will be inspired by the latest Londy fashion collection. This takes place with cooperation from OpenArtsPTY.

Macrofest closes with a flourish on Sunday, March 22, at the Plaza Quinto Centenario with a morning of sport activities including yoga, a dance-a-thon and Stand-Up Paddle Boarding in the Bay of Panama.

All the events of the festival –the Macro-Market, the Ideas Laboratory, a series of concerts, and Art Pavillion and a Fashion Fair– are free to attend, with the exception of the Sugar Craving party in OnPlug and the dance presentations at the Anita Villaláz Theater.
