Paddlers race to Taboga to raise money for charity

Competitive sports for a charitable cause -that is the motivation behind the second edition of “Crossing Panama – Taboga 2015,” scheduled for Sunday, April 26. The event is organized by Paddle for a Cause, and will benefit the Make a Wish Foundation, FundAyuda y Fundación Jesús.

It begins at 7:30 a.m. in front of the Veramar restaurant located at the Veracruz Beach in Panama City. From there, racers will proceed to Taboga Island, spanning a distance of 11.5 km to 23.5km, competing in different categories and intensity levels.

According to the race organizers, anyone who takes part is a winner. Participants can choose their preferred mode of transportation, whether kayaks, canoe or paddleboard.
