Boquete celebrates the culinary bounty of the Chiriqui highlands

Boquete Gastronomico is an event for “foodies” that seeks to highlight the culinary offer in the town of Boquete, province of Chiriqui. The event is made possible by the Boquete Chamber of Tourism and Grupo Excelencias in collaboration with the town’s hotels, restaurants and tourism professionals. The grand finale takes place this Friday, July 24.

La Brûlerie, the new restaurant at Finca Lérida run by chef Andrés Madrigal, will serve open wine with tapas from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

The event began earlier this week with a series of activities, presentations and special training clinics led by recognized chefs in various establishments in Boquete. Among the participating establishments are Restaurante Barú, Lucero Golf & Country Club, Hacienda Los Molinos Boutique Hotel, Finca Lérida, Hotel Panamonte, The Haven Spa and Explora Ya.

On Friday, the town’s attention will turn to Boquete’s main plaza with an exposition featuring the region’s food producers and distributors, musical performances, children’s activities and contests.
