Copa Airlines, in conjunction with Panama’s Tourism Authority (ATP), recently launched “Solo en Panamá” (Only in Panama), an international publicity campaign that began in May that will run through November 2015. Two months after its debut, the ad campaign is credited for Copa selling an additional 20,000 airline tickets to the country, nearly four times the minimum number of passengers required for the ATP to recoup its investment in the project.
This initiative seeks to continue positioning Panama as a unique destination that is incredibly accessible thanks to the great number of direct flights to more than 70 international destinations serviced by Copa. The campaign targets travelers from the United States, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, considered to be the markets that generate the most tourists to the Isthmus. .
Gustavo Him, ATP Director, explained that “We are working to ensure that tourism plays a key role in the country’s development, playing to our key strength, our connectivity.”
