Café de Panamá is a group of coffee growers from Boquete whose members adhere to sustainable agriculture practices. The families that make up the association oversee the collection, processing, washing, drying and biodegradable packaging of their beans, without making use of synthetic chemicals or additives.
La Finca Don Nery, owned by Ambrosio Castillo, is one of 10 family farms producing the Café de Panamá brand. The founder of the brand, Peter Moss, is the owner of Casa Los Naranjos B&B.
Janson Coffee Farm in Volcan
The Janson family, producers of the much sought Geisha bean, has a rich, 100-year history in Volcan. A tour of the plantation and processing plant where the gourmet Janson coffee is produced is a “must.” The family’s tour company, Lagunas Adventures, takes advantage of the area’s stunning beauty. The property also features one of the highest wetland and lake systems in the country.
