At the Book Fair
Panamanian author, Mirna Pierce, is taking part in the International Book Fair to promote the second installment of her Panama Canal Trilogy. The author will be on hand each day of the fair from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Hombre de la Mancha stand where visitors can pick up their copy of “Irresistible.”
The Panama Canal Trilogy, uses the backdrop of the construction of the Canal as the setting for an action-packed story. The recently published second novel, “Irresistible: Joelle and the bittersweet saga of the Panama Canal,” covers the period in Panama’s history right before its separation from Colombia and includes the Thousand Days’ War.
The first book, “Inseparable: the story of Romi and Earl of Frimhurst,” follows the French construction effort, and spans the globe, from Egypt, Europe to the United States.
Mirna Pierce, will be on hand each day of the fair from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Hombre de la Mancha stand.
Pierce breathes life to the period of Panama’s history just before its separation from Colombia. The tastes, smells and sounds pour from the page and give nuanced insight into the era of grandiose dreams and moneyed schemes.
