‘Pagliacci’ is a verismo opera genre written by Italian composer Ruggiero Leoncavallo.

Opera Panama Foundation will present on Wednesday 2 and Thursday, September 3, one of the most globally perform operas, ‘Pagliacci’ by Italian composer Ruggero Leoncavallo, at Teatro Ateneo, City of Knowledge, at 8 p.m.

‘Pagliacci’ is an Italian opera that recounts the tragedy of a jealous husband and his wife. This opera was presented for the first time in 1892 and has since become one of the most representative operas of its kind.

Under the direction of American professor Robert Thieme, a cast of international and Panamanians artists will bring to life the opera, led by Jakub Pustina, tenor of the Czech Republic, and Juan Pomares, Panamanian tenor.

The opera will be accompanied by the National Symphonic Orchestra by the adult choir and the children’s choir of the Institute of the Ateneo. Tickets are on sale at Ticketplus.com.pa. For more information call Tel. 6997-2445 or visit OperaPanama.com
