The Panama Motor Show is one of Panama’s most popular events. Crowds flock to see new models, choose their next car, or just to dream of getting behind the wheel of some luxury vehicle. This year’s event is taking place at the Atlapa Convention Center until Sunday, October 11
Buyers and car buffs can find the latest models of well-known brands such as Kia, Toyota, Hyundai, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Isuzu and Suzuki as well as the most up- market ones such as BMW and Lexus. Bahia Motors is displaying the new Honda Pilot 2016. Petroautos has the Hyundai i20 on show and Audi the sleek Q7.
As well as being a platform for the newest car models, banks and other financial institutions offer specials deals to purchase automobiles, motorcycles and accessories.
According to figures from the Panama Automobile Distributors Association (ADAP), 40,917 cars were sold in Panama from January to August this year, representing an increase of 8% in comparison with the same period last year.
Their data also indicates that Asian brands are the favorites in Panama with Toyota at the top with sales of 8,282 units, followed by Hyundai with 7,493 vehicles and Kia with 6,781. Figures of the Terrestrial Transport Authority (ATTT) show that up to August this year there were a total of 1,126,700 cars in the country.
The Panama Motor Show is organized by the Panama Automobile Distributors Association (ADAP) and is open from Monday to Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
