La Tasca de Triana restaurant at the Los Mandarinos Hotel in El Valle, already well-known for its innovative dishes, has changed its menu and now offers different entrees, main dishes and desserts, combining authentic Spanish cuisine with Panamanian produce. All creations of renowned Spanish chef, Raúl Vaquerizo.

The restaurant has become the meeting place for locals and foreigners in El Valle who are looking for fine dining in serene surroundings. Decorated as a typical Spanish tapas bar, La Triana is inviting and warm with the distant mountains as background scenery.

The Tapas menu is outstanding. The cod croquettes, crispy in the outside and soft and tasty in the inside are a real treat. For those who want a light lunch or dinner, you cannot go wrong with the ‘montaditos’ , consisting of bread with a selection of Serrano ham, chopped steak, sea bass ceviche and Spanish chorizo. The fried wonton filled with beef jerky is another unusual tapa to consider. If you prefer a hot entree, the squash cream with Serrano ham and three peppercorns is a great way to start a meal, satisfying but not heavy.

Selecting a main dish can be difficult. The steak with peppercorn sauce accompanied with ‘poor man’ fried potatoes (potatoes and fried onions) will not disappoint. If you prefer seafood, the grilled octopus, which is tender, and served on a clay dish, is a good option.

Choosing a dessert is also a challenge, because of the variety, but the pear tart and the Oreo cheesecake are worth putting on a few pounds.

Every month Tasca de Triana offers a dinner tasting menu with wine pairing, which consists of approximately 14 dishes and six wines, specially selected to complement each other. It is advisable to make reservation as space is limited.
