Panama has become the favorite scenario for many video games such as “Pirates of the Caribbean, the Legend of Jack Sparrow” to “Tour of Duty, Call of Duty: Black Ops II”, where Manuel Antonio Noriega is one of the main characters.
The Isthmus is perceived by companies like Activision, Sega Genesis and Sierra-on-Line as an exotic location where great adventures can take place. There is even game called Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings, where the main character is coming to Panama looking for the Moses’ Staff.
In “Gold Rush”, an adventurer takes a ship from Panama to California to become a gold miner and in “Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory”, a spy is trying to save the world and most of action happens in Panama.
There is no doubt that the country with its cosmopolitan capital, tropical rainforests and secluded beaches appears to inspire games creators, who again and again use Panama as the place where the action happens.
