Ice skating is a sport not only reserved for countries with a cold climate during the Christmas season, because although we are in the tropics, without a snowflake in sight, children and adults can enjoy unforgettable moments in two ice rinks recently installed in the capital city.
From Saturday, November 28, the magic of Christmas can be enjoyed on the Coastal Strip. This is the first time a rink has been installed there and Panamanians and foreigners alike will be able to skate and welcome the end of the year festivities.
“Christmas Ice World” will be open to the public from 10am to 10pm. Gaitan Bros is the company who is organizing this event, which will close at the beginning of January, 2016.
Every weekend there will be musical shows, plays, an inflatable world, fitness classes, dances, cookery demonstrations and arcade games. Entrance costs $10 for 30 minutes, and includes a locker and a pair of skates per person. Tickets for sale at PanaTickets.com
At Metromall, Christmas arrived on Sunday, November 15, when the ice rink opened It will be available for the enjoyment of all the family until Sunday, January 17.
The rink will have the same opening hours as the shopping center, Monday to Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Entrance costs $4 for children up to the age of 12 and $6 for adults for 30 minutes. Tickets are for sale at the shopping center and Boletospanama.com
In addition to this, each evening the “Gran Plaza” in the mall will be covered with a snow storm which will delight the shoppers.
The snow storms take place Monday to Wednesday at 7pm and Thursday to Sunday at 6:30, 7 and 7:30 p.m. with a duration of seven minutes.
