Mother’s Day is celebrated in Panama on December 8, the day of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception. This is one of the most important dates of the year and many wine and dine their mothers inviting them for lunch or dinner at the best hotels and restaurants. The Visitor gives a list of places where you can take your mother on her special day:

The Brio Restaurant at the Waldorf Astoria Panama Hotel, is offering a special buffet for Mother’s Day from midday to 12 a 4 p.m. The cost per person is $40 per person plus tax, but is free for mothers and children under eight years old, kids between eight and twelve pay $15 plus VAT. Mother’s Day in PanamaThe Megapolis Convention Center is having a brunch with dance from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a show of the Orquesta Cafe, DJ and mariachis as well as children’s activities. The cost is $35 per person plus taxes and children between the ages of six to eleven pay $18 plus VAT. For reservations call tel. 380-1111

The Continental Hotel will have a fun lunch for mothers with the Panamanian comedian “la One Two”, live music and surprises. The brunch is from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and cost de $39.95 plus tax per person. Call tel. 395-8000

The Wyndham Panama in Albrook Mall, has a brunch with live music and gifts for mothers, wine and champagne included. The cost is $36.95 per person plus taxes. For reservations call 307-0300.

The Costa Nova restaurant of the Westin Costa del Este Hotel, has an international brunch for Mother’s Day. It will have a live band, roses for the mothers, activities for children and include open bar for champagne and mimosas. The brunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and cost $45 plus taxes per person. The Hotel Radisson Summit & Golf will have a special buffet for Mother’s Day from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at a cost of $37 plus taxes per person and includes a glass of mimosa.
