The National Symphonic Orchestra will tour the different schools and churches of the country, playing the traditional Christmas carols which are enjoyed by children and adults this time of the year. Entrance to the concerts are free.
The Orchestra under the direction of Jorge Ledezma Bradley, will interpret classical Christmas carols and they will be accompanied by the Ensamble Solistas de Panama.
The tour includes a concert on Saturday, December 12 at the Arco Chato, San Felipe, Casco Antiguo at 4 p.m. Followed by Carols by Candlelight at the Mirador del Pacifico Amphitheater on the Coastal Strip at 6:30 p.m.
The tour will continue on Wednesday, December 16 with a presentation in the San Lucas Church, Costa del Este, at 7:30 p.m. The tour concludes on Wednesday, January 6, to celebrate Twelfth Night ( in Panama they call the celebration ‘El Día de los Reyes Magicos´) with a presentation in the Cathedral Square in San Felipe, Casco Antiguo, at 3 p.m.
In addition to the Symphonic Orchestra Tour, the National Culture Institute (INAC) is presenting “A cultural Christmas for everybody”, with magic, clowns (Pepina and Torton) shows, artistic and musical performances and will cover 12 different locations in the country.
“A cultural Christmas” will visit the Alanje Cathedral, Chiriqui, on Saturday, December 12 from 6 p.m.; on Sunday, December 13 there is a presentation in Panama Oeste at the San Carlos Borromeo Church at 2 p.m. The last show will be at the Cañitas school of Panama Este, on Friday, December 18 at 11:30 a.m. For the complete schedule visit inac.gob.pa
