Hundreds of Santas descend on the City of Knowledge

Hundreds of people dressed as Santa Claus will invade the City of Knowledge on Sunday, December 20, when the Santa’s Race takes place. This Christmas-themed race/walk, is a different way to say goodbye to the year, exercising with family and friends in a convivial environment.

The start and finish line will be located in “La Plaza” (shopping center) of the City of Knowledge. As a reference it is the same place where the Panama Armed Forces Running Association races are held.

The race will begin at 7:00 a.m. and runners will cover a distance of five kilometers. Signs will mark the route. The race organizers Iván Rodríguez of ‘Sports and Health’ and Fernando Revuelta of ‘Running in Panama’ said that the idea of the running Santas came from the United States as a novel way to get into the Christmas spirit.

All the money collected from the registration will go to MAKE-A-WISH PANAMA (Pide un Deseo), an organization that grants wishes to sick children, regardless of their socioeconomic status, race or religion.
