The fair of theater and world contemporary dance. The International Scenic Festival Panama 2016 ( FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE ARTES ESCÉNICAS – PANAMÁ 2016 (FAE 16). Will take place from Thursday 3 to Wednesday, March 9 in different venues all over the capital city. This event aims to bring the scenic arts to the masses with performances by national and international artistes.
The International Scenic Festival Panama 2016 is one of the most important festivals for theater and contemporary dance in the country. Its internationally recognized as one of the main artistic encounters in the region. Every two years different groups and companies from all over the world come to Panama to share their craft. All the groups have been especially invited by the organizers.
The theater will be represented by the play “Tiempos de Paz” a production of the Argentinean company, Zzin; from Brazil comes the Teatro Andante with “Olympia”; direct from Chile comes the group Viaje Inmóvil with “Otelo”; Spain is sending the actors from the Titzina Teatro with “Distancia siete minutos”, and Colombia will have a double representation with “La Maldita Vanidad” and the work “Morir de amor” plus the children’s theater ‘Gota de Mercurio’ with “La Piñata”.
The dance program will be presented by the companies Granhoj Dance (Denmark) with “Rose, Spring Rite- Extended 2”. The Mexican troupe, Proyecto Sur Oeste Arte Escénico, will perform “Taxdermia” and Cia. Circolando, from Portugal, will dance “Arena”.
Tickets are already for sale for the principal part of the program which starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will cost $20, $15, $10 and $5 plus taxes, only for shows at the City of Knowledge Ateneum Theater and the Balboa and Anita Villalaz Theaters. These seven shows can be seen on a special offer if you acquire a full pass for $100, $80 and $50, at Ticketplus.com. Other sales points such as Audiofoto, E.pago, Multiplaza and Albrook Mall.
International Scenic Festival Panama 2016 starts at 9:30 pm will be dedicated to national groups. Entrance costs $2.00 for all the public. Presentations will take place at the Anita Villalaz Theater, GECU Multi-use Studio, Tántalo and Las Clementinas. The only exception is the presentation of the Mexican group at the Arco Chato which will cost $10.00.
In addition to this, there will be free outdoor presentations for the whole family during the weekend of the festival at the Coastal Strip Mirador del Pacífico and Cathedral Square with stilt walkers, jugglers, magicians, plays and dances.
The event is organized by the Fundacion pro Artes Escénicas y Audiovisuales, together with Panama Municipality and the National Culture Institute , City of Knowledge Foundation and the University of Panama GECU.
