MAC Panama summons artists. The Museum of Contemporary Art, MAC Panama, is calling all designers and visual artists to present a creative proposal to transform four zebra crossings which are close by into works of art, to celebrate the International Day of the Museums, that takes place on Wednesday, May 18. The project should be presented by Friday, May 6.
The design can only use four colors: white, yellow, gray and an additional one. The artist must take into account that the additional color selected cannot be permanent due to climate and/or time factors. The subject of the work will be “Museums and cultural landscapes,” which is the theme of the International Day of the Museum.
This initiative is part of the program “MAC en el Barrio” (Mac in the Neighborhood), which seeks to integrate the museum with the neighborhood it belongs to (in this case Ancon) as well as with other nearby neighborhoods. It also include projects with organized civil groups and collaboration with other institutions.
Visual artists, designers and collective artists (Panamanians or residents) can participate in this program. For more information firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) is the only Museum of Contemporary Art that exists in Panama. It is a non-governmental organization (NGO) as well as a non-profit organization that exists on privatel contributions.
