Panama Burger Master 2016. On Thursday, April 28, the climax of the third edition of the Burger Week Challenge will take place at the RIU Hotel on Calle 50 when both the semi-final and final of the competition will take place and Burger Week Master Chef 2016 will be revealed.
Six chefs from the city have been carefully chosen to compete in the semi-finals by a select group of experienced judges in the culinary world, who visited the participating restaurants and made their selection.
During the event, the semifinalists chefs, Carlos Yanes from The Green Club, Sergio Landeros from Sumo 16, Germán Ghelfi from Society Cafe at the Hilton Hotel, Jose Lopez from Avila Burger, Ramon Castillo from Bros & Beer and Hugo Bustamante from Restaurant Blue at the Trump Hotel, will be cooking live and attendees will have the chance to sample their recipes for only $2.00 per slider.
Burgers are not the only option on the evening’s menu. Admission to the event includes open Miller Lite Beer and Canada Dry Ginger Ale, plus snacks prepared by the event host chef, Edilberto Bautista.
That same night, the judges will first choose three finalists to compete in the final round where the winning burger and Burger Week Master Chef will be crowned. In this round the finalists have to use secret ingredients and creativity to produce the most original burger in Panama. The jury this year comprises Jorge Chanis, Carla Severino, Alejandro Cohen-Henriquez and the chef, Melanie Alvarado.
At the end of the night the winner of the “Miller Lite Fan Favorite Burger” award will also be announced, for the restaurant with the most votes in the online platform Week.com.pa. The voting will be open until Thursday, April 28.
