Panama rocks out again. After the success achieved at the last MUPA ROCK festival 2015, the Municipality of Panama has reaffirmed its support for artistes and musicians by organizing the second version of this alternative rock music and culture festival. The event will take place from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 April at the Mirador del Pacifico on the Cinta Costera 2.
Mupa 2016 will include the participation not only of rock bands, but also other genres like reggae roots and rap. Among the international bands that will be participating in the festival are, Golden Ganga (Mexico) and from Costa Rica, the band Zakate.
On Sunday 17, the festival will close with the participation of international bands such as Abismo (Colombia), Elefreak (Venezuela), Trampa (Costa Rica) and the famous punk rock band, Allison (Mexico).
Besides music, MUPA also has workshops in drawing, hip-hop, yoga, development of murals and graffiti, among others. It emulates international festivals such as Rock Al Parque in Colombia, Rock al Farolito, the Festival de las Artes in Costa Rica, Vive Lima in Peru and Vive Latino, seeking to send positive social messages.
The Municipality is seeking to turn Panama City into a tourist festival destination and to place the name of MUPA among the best musical events of its kind in the region.
