Hotel Presidente at Las Tablas. Soon, Las Tablas in Los Santos province, considered the cradle of Panamanian folklore and identity, will become home to the new Hotel Presidente due to open its doors in mid-June.
Adding to the hotels in the region, the Presidente Hotel has been located, designed and built taking into account the famous festivities which are celebrated in this sector.
Las Tablas, is the epicenter of the most renowned events and traditional festivals in Panama and this new hotel will be at the heart of important celebrations such as the National Pollera Festival, Carnival Tableño, the Feast of Corpus Christi etc.
Las Tablas was founded on July 19, 1671, by a group of Spaniards who lived in the city of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Panamá, who were forced to flee after the sack of the city by English pirate Henry Morgan.
The hotel is a brand new building conveniently located in front of the Belisario Porras Park, where the most important celebrations take place during the carnival season. It is located in the heart of the city and features a rooftop pool bar, lounge and a barbecue area that accommodates up to 60 people. There are 34 luxurious rooms, single or double, equipped with air conditioning, safe, LCD screen and mini bar, among other basic amenities.
It also has a convenience store located within the same hotel facilities, which sells souvenirs.
Hotel Presidente, will also have a large meeting room accommodating up to 120 guests for weddings or corporate events as well as a restaurant with seating for 70.
