Panama Color Run 2016. “The Color Run” in its Tropicolor Tour edition will be held on Saturday May 7 on the Coastal Strip 3, starting next to the Seafood Market and ending at the same place with a music festival.
The 5k run/walk will feature colorful explosions, using cornstarch powders with artificial coloring. There will be an end-of-race, party hosted by DJs Mike Guevara and Michal Scheffler who will ensure an evening full of color, music and fun.
This is the second time that this race has been held in Panama and it will benefit the Foundation “Team Gladiadores”, which seeks to raise funds to support children and youngsters of El Chorrillo, so they can carry out their studies and fulfill their sports’ dreams. The foundation is chaired by National Police Lieutenant, Nicolas Garcia, who is also an athlete and a national sports’ icon.
The foundation transmits knowledge, discipline and values to children in the community of El Chorrillo through sports’ training and over the last five years, many children have developed a healthy lifestyle, away from the dangers of the streets.
In its 2015 version The Color Run was held in 150 U.S. cities and in more than 60 countries around the world such as Colombia, Italy, Chile, Spain, Panama and Australia. The main objective is to encourage and motivate children, adolescents and families to be physically active and to have fun in a healthy way.
Registration is $30 and includes a participation kit with an official limited edition t-shirt, a headband, two water tattoos and a bag with colored powder. Tickets are on sale at every Duran Coffee Store or on the website of the race www.TheColorRunPanama.com.
Participants can pick up their kit on Friday, May 6, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Subaru dealer located on Avenida Balboa.
