The Atlantic & Pacific restaurant, located in the Miraflores Visitors’ Center has the best view in town of the Canal. Visitors can watch as ships are lowered or raised through the locks, a stone’s throw away, while enjoying lunch, dinner or relaxing with a drink. The eatery is a welcome stop after a visit to the exhibits housed in the Center.
The restaurant is casual, the decor nostalgic, with mementos from the Canal construction era and furniture from the turn of the century. The menú features dishes combining Panamanian traditional ingredients served with a modern and international twist.
Every day from midday to 5:00 p.m a varied buffet with cold and hot dishes is served. From Tuesday to Saturday starting at 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. there is an a la carte menu with signature dishes like chicken and rice croquettes and alioli, “ropa vieja gorditas” (a Mexican-Panamanian dish) and “pineapple baked seabass”. To finish the meal try the caramel flan with crunchy cashews. These plates are the creation of Chef Julio Loli, who worked in the best restaurants in Miami until his arrival in Panama when he joined the Atlantic & Pacific team.
The restaurant has a private events room with capacity for 150 people. It offers different types of buffets, selected menus and open bar for parties or corporate functions.
