Sebastian Garzon fundraiser. Drummer, composer and educator, Sebastian Garzon, will offer a benefit concert on Sunday, June 26 at Villa Agustina Bar in Casco Antiguo, with the aim of raising the necessary funds to complete his music studies at the New England Conservatory (NEC) in Boston Massachusetts.
The musician, native of Colon City, is a volunteer teacher at the Danilo Jazz Club and during the recent Panama Jazz Festival 2016 was awarded a partial scholarship to study in the Jazz Performance program from August 2016 at the academy.
The NEC is the oldest private music school in the United States, it has one of the most reputable Jazz programs worldwide and only 3% of the academy admissions come from Latin American musicians. To complete the necessary funds to cover part of the college expenses and accommodation during the four years of the program, Sebastian, has a crowdfunding campaign in the platform www.Costea.me which it offers links to download his music in exchange for donations.
The concert in Via Agustina will feature the presentation of the bands Resistance, Carlos Mendez and the Orchestra La Kshamba. The money collected during the presentation will be used to help complete the funds. The cost of admission is $10.
